The secretary's primary responsibilities are to act as the point of contact with the MSJFL ( the league) and to maintain club records with respect to a number of administrative issues. Specifically, the role includes:

  1. Attending, with the president, club delegates meetings held by the MSJFL and communicating any relevant outcomes from these meetings to team managers, coaches and parents as necessary
  2. Maintaining records of committee meetings
  3. Maintaining club insurances
  4. Maintaining records of team and club officials' accreditations, including:
    1. coaching accreditations
    2. trainer accreditations
    3. Working-with-Children accreditations
  5. Monitoring each team's fines and player penalties/send-offs as published by the MSJFL
  6. Maintaining records of award winners for each team, i.e. Best & Fairest, Coaches Awards etc.
  7. Apply for selected funding grants
  8. Act as central point of coordination for any match day incidents (e.g. reported players/officials)
  9. Guide and support team managers (particularly new team managers) with respect to interaction with the league and use of the Sporting Pulse system
